Google API Services User Data Policy

Text To Speech Reader - Read Aloud's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Application and operator

This Privacy Policy applies to Text To Speech Reader - Read Aloud, a Google Docs add-on operated by App Would Work. The add-on helps users listen to text from an active Google Docs document using browser speech synthesis.

Google user data accessed or processed

The add-on accesses Google user data only when needed to provide its read-aloud features. Depending on the action you choose, the add-on may access or process the following data from the active Google Docs document:

The add-on is not designed to browse all files in your Google Drive, copy unrelated Drive files, or collect Google account profile data for an App Would Work account.

How Google user data is used

Google user data is used only to provide or improve user-facing features of Text To Speech Reader - Read Aloud. Specifically, document text is used to display or prepare the requested text in the add-on sidebar and to let your browser read that text aloud using speech synthesis. Add-on settings are used to apply your selected reading range, language, voice, and speed.

Storage and retention

App Would Work does not intentionally store Google Docs document text on its own servers. The add-on processes document text for the current read-aloud session. Browser or Google Workspace systems may retain temporary operational data, logs, or preferences under their own policies and technical behavior.

If you email App Would Work for support, we may retain your support message and email address as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain records, and protect the service. Do not include private document content in support requests unless you want us to review that content for support.

Sharing, transfer, or disclosure

App Would Work does not sell Google user data and does not transfer Google user data to third parties for advertising, data brokerage, credit-worthiness, lending, personalized advertising, retargeting, or interest-based advertising.

We may disclose information only when necessary to operate or protect the add-on, comply with law, respond to lawful requests, prevent abuse, or use service providers that support hosting, email, security, or Google Workspace functionality. These disclosures are limited to the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Data protection

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect Google user data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. The add-on is designed to request only the permissions needed for its Google Docs sidebar and read-aloud functionality. Access to support messages is limited to people who need it to provide support or operate the service.

Prohibited uses of Google user data

App Would Work does not use Google user data for targeted advertising, personalized advertising, retargeted advertising, interest-based advertising, selling to data brokers, providing to information resellers, determining credit-worthiness, lending purposes, creating unrelated databases, or training AI models.

Deletion requests

Because the add-on is not designed to store document text on App Would Work servers, document text used during a read-aloud session is not available for account-level deletion from our systems. You may request deletion of support emails or other information you sent directly to App Would Work by contacting us at appwould.work@gmail.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if the add-on changes how it accesses, uses, stores, shares, protects, retains, or deletes Google user data. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new last updated date.
